Helping Working Families in Lethbridge Find Stability, Dignity, and Independence.
There are families in our community living month to month — SAIL exists to help them find stability.
The Lethbridge Affordability Crisis
The following data comes from the City of Lethbridge’s 2024 Housing Needs Assessment, using data from Statistics Canada (2021).

1,350 households spend over 50% of their income on housing
Many families in our community are doing everything right and still struggling to keep a roof over their heads. Rising housing costs mean many are living month to month, one unexpected change away from losing their home.
No one should have to choose between making rent or buying groceries.

Housing insecurity: Living month to month at risk of losing your home — often forced to choose between rent and basic necessities
We are a faith-based initiative dedicated to helping Lethbridge's working families.
SAIL (Supportive Accommodation for Independent Living) helps families who can’t afford stable housing by providing temporary rent support and ongoing coaching — giving them the time and support needed to get back on their feet and move toward independence.
Mission: To provide working families in Lethbridge with housing security, financial coaching, and a Christ-centered community that fosters healing, redemption, and lasting stability.
Vision: A Lethbridge where every family experiences the wholeness of Christ through stable housing, restored relationships, and a supportive village of believers.

Our 4-Part Strategy to Support Families
SAIL employs a relational, step-by-step strategy that combines housing support, coaching, and community. Our approach works because families aren’t left to figure things out alone — they are given time, stability, and support to transform their lives in a sustainable way.
Tapering Rent Assisstance
SAIL covers 50% of rent in the first year, then gradually reduces support over the next two years — giving families time to move toward self-sufficiency.
Subsidy Schedule & Example:
• Year 1: 50% rent subsidy
• Year 2: 40% rent subsidy
• Year 3: 30% rent subsidy

Coaching & Advocacy
Families are supported through practical coaching and advocacy — helping them set goals, navigate challenges, and move forward with confidence and direction.

Community Support
SAIL thoughtfully connects families with a church community to walk alongside them — offering encouragement, relationship, and practical support through the journey.

Independence Oriented
Every part of SAIL is designed to move families toward independence — building the stability, skills, and confidence needed to sustain housing long-term.
